You know, what I just said gave me an idea.

Kirai looks at the rather large lioness next to him.

She's hideous. She is enormous. Nobody liked her, except for that foolish Nusu. Even he himself didn't like Kioja. But as disgusting as she is, she is her own brand of perfect.

She is the perfect bodyguard. She is powerful, protective, and her own ugliness made for the perfect weapon. She, of course, will never be allowed to breed. Though then again, it might be a good idea to put her with the biggest male he can find to see what the results are. Perhaps the offspring will be even bigger? Who knows.

But for now, she is the only thing standing between Kirai and death at the talons of an angry red lioness.
